ingredients
directions
1. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the slices of bread in the bottom (or cut into 9 large cubes for a casserole style). In a large bowl, beat together eggs, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight. NOTE: only make one dish at a time, toss bread in bowl with mixture, then transfer to pan. In the morning, flip mixture gently to incorporate liquid. |
2. The next morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). |
3. Bake in preheated oven, uncovered, for 20 minutes. While that is baking, in a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup; heat until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg mixture and bake another 20 minutes or until done. |
4. Serve with Bacon |
5. NOTE: whole milk can be used instead of cream, may take longer bake time; do not fill to close to top or it can bubble over when bread expands from baking. |
